Is it time for a re-set?

  • Are you feeling a bit discouraged about how unhealthy habits have crept in over winter?

  • Was lockdown a bit of a disaster as far as food and alcohol intake went?

  • Are your clothes feeling a bit snug?

  • Are you feeling stuck in a rut and fed up with where you are at?

It’s time for a re-set!

The days are slowly stretching out and it’s a great time to lose a few kilos before you need to remove a few clothing layers.

The first thing you need to do is decide what do you want and what are you prepared to do to get it. There is no fairy dust, no magic pills or potions and no quick fix. You are the one who has to put the effort in and make long term changes to get what you want. Deal with those few kilos now, before they are joined by a few more!

I’m here to advise, encourage and support, but you have to make the changes. Are you ready? Contact me now and let’s get started.

Because I am studying this year I have shortened my hours, meaning I have limited appointments each week. To start in August, email me now and let’s get an appointment set up.

Remember, results start when you do.

Success story of the month

Carla was suffering from depression and anxiety and realised that she needed to change her lifestyle in order to heal and become healthy again.

She lost 15 kilos over 5 months and is a changed, more positive and more energetic 40 year old now. You can see her before and after photos and read her account here (scroll down to the second story.)

Recipe of the month – vegetarian

Shakshouka/shakshuka. It’s really nice to have a tasty vegetarian meal each week and I love this spicy tomato mix with eggs baked on top. When I made it the second time, instead of using the fry pan, I baked it in an oblong ovenproof dish.

Breakfast ideas

  • Vogel’s have put out a new low carb, crunchy variety in their café style range. It is a bit hard to identify in the supermarket as their newly branded boxes look pretty similar. Look for the small box in the top left hand corner which says “new Keto friendly”. It is in the ordinary breakfast cereal section of the supermarket, with the other Vogel’s cereals.

  • Or, you can make your own low carb breakfast crunch topping. This recipe is super popular and super quick and simple to make.

  • Steel cut oats for porridge. Steel cut oats are simply oats that are chopped, as opposed to flattened like rolled oats. They make great, chewy porridge and have proved popular with clients. They absorb a lot of liquid, so generally 1/3 cup of steel cut oats makes a decent sized breakfast.

My new amazing kitchen gizmo!

About a month ago a lovely client told me about the Crock Express. It is a slow cooker, pressure cooker, rice cooker, yoghurt maker, soup cooker and it is a.m.a.z.i.n.g! It sears and browns meats, it sautés the veggies for your meat dishes and soups and I can’t praise it enough. It is super easy to clean, super quiet to use and you don’t get any splatters when you are sautéing food.

I have used the pressure cooker function for casseroles, whole roast chickens, rolled roast beef, bolognaise type sauces, soups, etc. The brown/sauté function is great for searing meats and chicken etc, then you simply add the veggies and some liquid and dinner is ready super quick. The meat is super tender every time. I bought mine from Noel Leeming.
