Attitude is Everything

Having the right attitude really is key to long term success when it comes to weight loss and a healthy lifestyle. I see clients from all walks of life and what distinguishes the most successful ones from those who struggle, is attitude. Being prepared to do what it takes to get where you want to be.

I totally understand that change can be challenging, but we all know the old saying that to achieve a different result, you have to do something different. Sometimes you have to look at how much you want something and then what you are prepared to do to get it.

It might start with a few simple tweaks such as

  • Reducing the amount of alcohol you consume. Liquid calories count.
  • Cutting back on takeaways and processed foods and preparing more of your own food
  • Doubling the amount of vegetables you currently eat
  • Making time to eat breakfast
  • Having a water bottle on hand wherever you are so that you drink enough water
  • Arranging to meet up with a friend a few times a week for a walk

I’d like to mention some clients who while still fairly new, have adopted the necessary changes and are getting great results, as well as feeling so much better.

Paul is in his late 50’s and has an horrendous workload, most weeks putting in at least 80 hours. His stress levels were through the roof and when I met him he was barely drinking any water and could not see any way that he could possibly fit in exercise. We talked about the importance of reducing the amount of his stress in his life and how important exercise would be in helping prevent him becoming a type 2 diabetic.

Now, six weeks later, he has lost 4.4 kilos, dropped 4cm off his waist, increased his water and I’m so impressed that he is also making time to do a little exercise most days. He fits his exercise in around his work day.  He is feeling so much better, he has more energy and he has a great attitude towards taking better care of himself.

Husband and wife, Cecilia and Paul have a fantastic attitude towards their new healthy lifestyle. It involved making quite a lot of changes for them, but they were ready for it and have embraced the new food and exercise regime and are achieving great results. In a month Paul has dropped 8.7 kilos and 4cm off his waist and Cecilia has dropped 3.7 kilos in that time. I love their enthusiasm and hearing them say how much they love the food and how good they feel.
