Why aren't I losing weight faster? I am being SO good!
If your weight loss is slower than expected, it is more than likely that you are doing something to slow it down. The usual reason is a higher calorie intake than planned, either from bigger portions, extra snacking, liquid calories (alcohol and café type coffees count as food) and these total enough extra energy (calories) that the gap between the calories you need to lose weight and your maintenance level of calories, closes.
The only way to figure out why your weight loss might be slower than expected is to keep a 100% accurate food and exercise diary. Very rarely does an accurate diary not shed light on the issue. It can often be too, that you have changed the ‘formula’ and have swapped out protein and veggies (especially veggies at lunch time) for more carbs and/or processed food. You simply won’t get the best results by doing that.
When I write a food plan with a client I am taking into account their weight, their percentage of muscle, their level of activity and any other lifestyle factors that may influence progress.
The bottom line is, if you think your fat loss is slow, there is more than likely a reason for it, so let’s fine tune things again and make it happen.
Seeing lots of ex clients
Over the past few weeks I’ve caught up with several ‘old’ clients and it has been lovely to re-connect again. I love catching up with ex clients and I appreciate their coming back and giving me an opportunity to work with them again. There is never any shame or embarrassment in deciding to make a fresh start and it’s better to address the weight gain now, rather than later.
Landline being relinquished
For the past year or two I have received very few calls on the landline, so from now on please phone or text me on 021 1523 116, or email me lynda@nutritionforlife.co.nz
Thank you.
Angela's testimonial
Angela came to see me at the beginning of the year with little self confidence and even less belief that she could lose weight. Over the next four months she lost 15 kilos, gained her mojo back and is now radiating confidence.
She wrote this for me:
I was dragged along, reluctantly, to see Lynda by my hairdresser friend a few months ago. I had no expectation of succeeding in losing weight because I thought at 54 I was too old and it was just too hard.
I was feeling fat, old, and unattractive, pretty much and my self esteem was at an all time low. I have dieted off and on all my adult life and thought I knew a thing or two about diets so was sceptical at first.
I was wrong about knowing a thing or two, Lynda has shown me a whole new approach and it really does work. Lynda set out a personalised eating plan for me to suit my lifestyle and even allowed me to keep my evening wine. In 4 months, I have reached my goal of 15 kg.
I'm not great with exercising, and confess to rarely doing any, but the weight still came off, a win win for me! I have decided to carry on to a goal of losing 20 kg because I know I can achieve it easily.
I feel fantastic. I'm regaining my confidence and I feel more like my old self again. I can't thank Lynda enough for her encouragement and guidance on my journey.
Winter warming recipes
You can go past soups for a filling lunch and my thick veggie soup recipe is super popular.
An even quicker version is my hearty chicken soup.
This lemon chicken casserole is pretty yummy too.
